Overview

Ma Pi Leng Pass, the Nho Que River and Hmong villages on the karst plateau.

Four days on the full Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van – Meo Vac loop, about 350km of mountain road. You travel by 9-seat limousine van and a 16-seat bus on the plateau — no motorbike riding required, so it suits families and older travellers.

Your guide is a Hmong local from Dong Van who speaks Vietnamese and English and takes the group to market days and friends’ homes rather than stops built for tour buses.

Itinerary 4 days / 3 nights

Day 1Hanoi – Ha Giang – Quan Ba

Pick-up in the Old Quarter at 6:30, expressway north then up to Ha Giang for lunch. In the afternoon stop at the Km0 marker and Quan Ba Heaven Gate overlooking the Fairy Twin Mountains. Dinner with your homestay family.

Day 2Yen Minh – Sa Phin – Lung Cu – Dong Van

Through the Yen Minh pine forest and the Tham Ma switchbacks. Visit the Vuong Family Mansion, built in 1914 in a Chinese–French style. Afternoon at Lung Cu Flag Tower, evening in Dong Van old town with coffee in a century-old rammed-earth house.

Day 3Ma Pi Leng – Nho Que River – Meo Vac

Leave at 6:00 for the best light on Ma Pi Leng Pass. Take a one-hour boat through the Tu San gorge, walls nearly 700m high. Return to Ha Giang city via Meo Vac and Yen Minh; thang co dinner.

Free morning at the city market. Depart 10:00, lunch en route, drop-off in the Old Quarter around 16:30.

A 30% deposit secures your place. The balance is due 7 days before departure, by bank transfer or card at our offices. VAT invoices are available on request.

Under 2: free, sharing a parent’s bed. 2–11: 75% of the adult price with own seat and meals. 12 and over: adult price.

Date & name changes

Moving to another date of the same tour 15+ days ahead: free, once. Changing a traveller’s name: free up to 3 days before (except tours with flights).

Bad weather

If storms or port closures affect the trip, we substitute an equivalent itinerary or refund unused services, with no cancellation fee.
